Žďár (German Schaar ) is a municipality with 104 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers north of Kralovice at 552 m above sea level. M. and belongs to the Okres Rakovník . The municipality extends over an area of 865 hectares.
geography
The village is located in the Jesenicko Nature Park in the Scheles Hills (Žihelská pahorkatina). Neighboring towns are Otěvěky in the east, Lhota in the southeast, Podbořánky in the southwest, Ostrovec in the west and Tlestky in the north.
history
The first written record dates back to 1558, when the owner was Florian Dietrich Ritter von Ždiar. In the year the St. Martin's Church was built, the responsible parish was in Scheles until 1783 and then in Podersanka (Podbořánky), which was also the school location. In 1819 the church was enlarged and repairs were carried out in 1887. In 1912, 181 people lived in Schaar. In 1923 a memorial for the victims of the First World War was erected near the church.
Two quarries and a kaolin pit were operated near the site.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Podersam district until 1945 .

The municipality Žďár consists of the districts Otěvěky ( Nedowitz ) and Žďár.
