history

The first written mention of the village belonging to the Pürglitz fiefdom came in 1325, when King John of Luxembourg left the villages of Příčina and Lubná to Kunrát von Šanov for loyal military service and assured him and his descendants all rights to the horu Příčska . The unusual place name (German cause ) is derived from the hill at the southern end, the sooner Příčská hora ( Cross Mountain ) was named. There was a fortress in the center of Příčina; However, the village did not form a unit, but was split into several Vladikengüter . Kunrát von Šanov got the title of Příčina . The subsequent owner of the fortress was his son František von Příčina. He was followed by his son Jindřich von Příčina, who was initially a royal official of the Rakonitz district and was appointed Vice Chamberlain of the Kingdom of Bohemia in 1389. Later the owners of the property changed many times.

When the imperial army marched to Rakonitz at the end of 1620, 50,000 men camped at Senomaty and devastated the area. The Příčina fortress was razed to the ground in clashes with the rebels. After the end of the Thirty Years War, Příčina was attached to the Petrowitz estate . At the beginning of the 18th century this belonged to Otto Freiherr von Helversen. A little later, Johann Josef von Waldstein acquired the property. In 1715 Waldstein signed the estate over to his daughter Maria Anna Fürstin zu Fürstenberg , who sold it to Georg Olivier von Wallis on January 13, 1732 . 1744 inherited the property by his son Stephan Olivier von Wallis , who combined the estate with the Koleschowitz rule . At the beginning of the 19th century, coal mining began in the Petrowitz, Přičina and Senetz area. In 1832 Stephan's son Rudolf Olivier Graf von Wallis inherited the property, followed by his son Friedrich Olivier Graf von Wallis in 1838.

In 1843 Přičina consisted of a total of 44 houses with 317 inhabitants. Four houses in the village belonged to the Pürglitz rule . A Jewish family lived in the Petrovitz part, and there was also an inn in this part. The parish was Petrowitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Přičina remained subject to the Petrowitz Allodialgut, which was part of the Koleschowitz Fideikommissherrschaft.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Příčina / Pritschina 1850 with the hamlet Žďáry a municipality in the district Rakonitz and judicial district Rakonitz. In 1871, the mining engineer Hynek Vondrášek took over the now flourishing Ludwig coal mine northeast of Příčina and had a coal towing railway built to Rakonitz. In 1897, after only six months of construction , the local railway Rakonitz – Mlatz began operating on the Rakovník – Mladotice line, but the trains passed Příčina without stopping. In 1900 a school was inaugurated. In 1932, 550 people lived in Příčina, including Žďáry. In the same year a train station was built halfway between Příčina and the Ludvík colliery.

After the German occupation , the community was given the German name Fleißgrund . In 1940 the coal mining near Příčina was stopped. Some opencast buildings were used for other purposes and today form the Brant settlement. The district Žďáry was umgemeindet to Hvozd in 1961 . The municipality has belonged to the Čistá - Senomaty microregion since 1999.
