history

Senec was founded after 1325 during the reign of King John of Luxembourg . The first written mention of the place took place in 1380. The first verifiable owners of the property belonging to the Pürglitzer fiefs were Otík Majírek and his son Jan. The existence of a fortress has been documented since the beginning of the 15th century. During the 15th and 16th centuries, the owners of the feudal estate, which consisted of the village of Senec and a farm, changed frequently. At the end of 1620 the village and the fortress were plundered and burned down by imperial troops, who with 50,000 men camped at Senomaty and then moved to Rakonitz. In 1655 six Senec chalets were still lying desolate. In 1683 Otto von Helversen bought the Senec estate with the festival, the Meierhof, a brewery, a privileged tavern, a mill and ponds for 15,000 guilders and added it to the Allodialgut Petrowitz . The fortress lost its importance as a mansion and was left to decay. At the beginning of the 18th century, von Helversen sold the estate to Johann Josef von Waldstein . In 1715 Waldstein signed the estate over to his daughter Maria Anna Fürstin zu Fürstenberg , who sold it to Georg Olivier von Wallis on January 13, 1732 . In 1744 his son Stephan Olivier of Wallis inherited the property . He united the Petrowitz estate with the Koleschowitz rule . In 1785 he had the desert fortress of Senec broken off and the Meierhof emphyteutized. At the beginning of the 19th century, coal mining began in the Petrowitz, Přičina and Senetz area. In 1832 Stephan's son Rudolf Olivier Graf von Wallis inherited the property, followed by his son Friedrich Olivier Graf von Wallis in 1838.

In 1843 the Dominikaldorf Senetz consisted of 62 houses with 421 inhabitants, including a Jewish family. In the village there was an official hunter's house, a school, a mill and an inn. The parish was Petrowitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Senetz remained subordinate to the Petrowitz allodial property, which was part of the Koleschowitz Fideikommissherrschaft.

After the abolition of patrimonial Senec / Senetz formed a community in the district of Rakonitz and the judicial district of Rakonitz from 1850 . In 1869, a school was set up in the parish house No. 8, in which from 1885 two classes were taught. In 1890 she moved into a newly built schoolhouse. In the 1921 census, Senec consisted of 90 houses and had 524 inhabitants; the municipality cadastre covered an area of 440 hectares, 76 ares and 69 square meters. The inhabitants lived mainly from agriculture and fruit growing. In 1932 there were 531 people living in Senec. Senec has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2002. In March 2010 Senec had 246 inhabitants. Of the 115 houses, 82 were permanently inhabited, and there were 30 holiday huts in the community.
