Halim Mersini (* 22. September 1961 in Vlora , Albania ) is a former football - goalkeeper and now football coach .

Mersini began his career with Shkëndija Tirana , where he played from 1978 to 1983. The club had to relegate to the second division after the 1979/80 season . From July 1983 to June 1989 Mersini was active as a goalkeeper at 17 Nentori Tirana and was three times Albanian champion with the club and won the Albanian football cup twice .

Mersini was the goalkeeper of the U-21 team from Albania, which surprisingly achieved the group win in the decisive match of the preliminary round against Germany in the decisive match of the preliminary round in 1984 and thus the sole group qualification of Group 6 for the quarter-finals. In 1988 and 1989 Mersini made a total of six appearances in the Albanian national team , four of them as part of qualifying for the 1990 World Cup .

After playing as a player, Mersini spent several years abroad, in Malmö , Bulgaria and Argentina . In 2010 he became a goalkeeping coach at KS Kamza .
