Halldór Guðmundsson

Halldór Guðmundsson (* 1956 in Reykjavík , Iceland ) is an Icelandic writer.

Life

Halldór studied literature and has been the publishing director of the largest Icelandic publishing house Mál og menning and JPV , Forlagið , which was created after a merger, since 1984 . He has published various books and articles, of which the biographies of Halldór Laxness and Gunnar Gunnarsson ( Skáldalíf ) received special attention. Since 2006 he has been editor of the cultural magazine Skírnir, which was founded in 1827 and is still published today .

In 2011 he was responsible for Iceland's appearance as a guest country at the Frankfurt Book Fair .
