List of Johannes Nepomuk representations in the Mödling district

Johannes Nepomuk , canonized in 1729, is the third most frequently depicted saint in Austria after Maria and Joseph . There are depictions of Johannes Nepomuk at numerous locations in the Lower Austrian district of Mödling .

Only after Bohemia , but before its beatification or canonization, did the veneration of Johannes Nepomuk begin in Lower Austria , which is documented in the form of statues and pictures.

Grisaille paintings depict scenes from the life of Johannes Nepomuk, such as “The Queen's Confession ”, “Johannes Nepomuk before King Wenceslaus ” and “The fall of Johannes Nepomuk into the Vltava ”. The bridge saint guarded the bridge over the Aubach. The bridge was torn down when the brook was piped up. This is where today's house stands. Nepomuk was moved to his current location on the occasion of the throne jubilee in 1898.
