Johannes Nepomuk , canonized in 1729, is the third most frequently depicted saint in Austria after Maria and Joseph . There are depictions of Johannes Nepomuk at numerous locations in the Lower Austrian district of Bruck an der Leitha .

Only after Bohemia , but before its beatification or canonization, did the veneration of Johannes Nepomuk begin in Lower Austria , which is documented in the form of statues and pictures. Measured against the large number of plastic and pictorial representations, the number of churches consecrated to Johannes Nepomuk in the Bruck an der Leitha district is negligible.

The original location of the statue of the saint, which was found among the junk after World War II, is unknown. The sculptor Viktor Hammer made a base with a water basin from cast artificial stone . The statue was then placed next to the parish church and renovated in 2010.
