Wienerherberg is a place and a cadastral municipality of the market town of Ebergassing in Lower Austria.
geography
The village is located two kilometers northeast of Ebergassing on the L156 state road, from which the L2062 state road branches off in the southwestern local area. The Fischa flows through the village to the east , where the Hahnseesiedlung weekend house settlement is also located in the wetland . On January 1st, 2020 there were 811 inhabitants in the village.
history
The name Wienerherberg was first mentioned around 1180 in a document from Klosterneuburg Abbey. In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1819 Wienerherberg is listed as a street village with numerous farmsteads. In the second half of the 19th century, Georg Volk, and after him his sons Franz and Carl, ran several mills in the local area. One of these mills developed into a paper mill of Neusiedler KG in the 19th century .
