List of Johannes Nepomuk representations in the Melk district

Johannes Nepomuk , canonized in 1729, is the third most frequently depicted saint in Austria after Maria and Joseph . There are depictions of Johannes Nepomuk at numerous locations in the Lower Austrian district of Melk .

Only after Bohemia , but before its beatification or canonization, did the veneration of Johannes Nepomuk begin in Lower Austria , which is documented in the form of statues and pictures. Measured against the large number of plastic and pictorial representations, the number of churches consecrated to Johannes Nepomuk in the Melk district is negligible.

		Relief John Nepomuk	Klein-Pöchlarn	Robert and Andreas Herfert	2002	On the part of the Danube bridge Pöchlarn facing Klein-Pöchlarn, a Nepomuk cross was erected in 2002 by Robert and Andreas Herfert with depictions of the saint lying, standing and falling into the water. The work of art was financed with funds from the road construction department of the Province of Lower Austria.
