St. Martin am Ybbsfelde is a cadastral municipality of the market town of Sankt Martin-Karlsbach and together with Neuhaus and Hengstberg formed the formerly independent municipality of the same name until the municipality was merged with Karlsbach .
The place has 698 inhabitants (VZ 2001). Sankt Martin consists of several districts: the actual “market”, Kniebichl, Eitzing and plant beds.
As the main town of the market town, the town houses the most important infrastructure facilities such as the town hall, parish office, elementary school and sports facility.
Culture and sights
- Catholic parish church St. Martin am Ybbsfelde with exposed medieval frescoes in the choir and the oldest octave bell in the world, the St. Martin's Peace Bell .
