history

Grave finds from Hennersdorf show that the Avars ruled Pannonia in the middle of the 6th century and that the tributary Slavs settled here.

After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the place was incorporated into the city of Greater Vienna to the 24th district. It was not until 1954 that the place became independent again and fell back to Lower Austria.

economy

Hennersdorf used to be more of an agricultural community, but today there are a number of commercial and industrial companies.

Companies
  • Wienerberger AG : The most important company is Wienerberger AG with its Austrian headquarters in town and one of the most modern brick kilns in Europe. These brickworks on what was then the “Strasse nach Italien” (now Triester Strasse) were leased by Alois Miesbach in 1775 and formed the foundation for today's Wienerberger company. This company has its origins here through the many brickworks that were built around the turn of the 20th century .
