Rolli and Rita

Rolli (narrator: Fredrick Ruth) and Rita (narrator: Nina Hamm, voice: Christina Fry) are two computer-animated teenagers who appear in a short video in each episode of the series. In addition, they sing a song in each episode.

In the year 1996, in which the series appeared, its animations were praised as "state of the art". The independent producer Baxter Hobbins Slides developed a 3D motion capture system with which the characters were animated. It consisted of suits that were equipped with motion sensors, which enabled the actors' movements to be “mapped” onto a 3D model. A real-time wireframe model of the characters could then be generated, after which skin and clothing were then added to the characters. The movements of the lip were created by filming the mouths of real actors in front of a blue screen.

The short videos were later dubbed again in French and Spanish for Quinze Minutes Plus (Juju et Juliette) and Revista (Julio y Julia).

The characters (mainly Rolli) and the music video "When is your birthday?" Later became a little " meme " due to Rolli's "extremely exaggerated" dance moves .
