Halomoan Edwin Binsar (born December 20, 2000 ) is an Indonesian hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Halomoan Edwin Binsar gained his first international experience in 2017 when he won the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the Asian Youth Championships in Bangkok in 51.96 s and secured the bronze medal over 110 m hurdles in 13.73 s. He then started at the U18 World Championships in Nairobi over the longer hurdles, but retired there with 68.62 seconds in the first round. At the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur he reached sixth place in 53.16 s. The following year he was fourth in the Junior Asian Championships in Gifu in 51.61 s and then retired from the U20 World Championships in Tampere over 110 m hurdles with 14.47 s in the lead. At the end of August he took part in the 400 m hurdles for the first time in the Asian Games in Jakarta , but was eliminated there with 53.28 s in the preliminary round. In 2019 he won the silver medal behind Eric Cray from the Philippines with a new national record of 50.81 seconds at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas .
