The Dortmund-Hoesch stop is a former stop in Dortmund on the Dortmund-Enschede railway line of the historic Dortmund-Gronau-Enscheder railway , a good three kilometers northeast of the Dortmund main station .

history

A local train in the direction of Lünen

Shortly after the Second World War, passenger traffic began at Dortmund-Eving train station (internal abbreviation EDEV). But as early as 1946/47, passenger traffic was relocated by less than 100 meters to the newly created stop (internal abbreviation EDHO) on the premises of the Hoesch Westfalenhütte . The sole purpose of this new breakpoint was to bring some of the up to 25,000 employees of the hut to their workplaces during weddings.

Passenger traffic was discontinued on May 31, 1992 and the breakpoint was canceled just under a year later on May 23, 1993. Regardless of this, it was still marked on the Deutsche Bahn route map in 2000 , and the remains of the two side platforms can still be seen today.
