Halyna Iwaniwna Petrossanjak ( Ukrainian Галина Іванівна Петросаняк ; * 1969 in the village of Cheremoshna , Verkhovyna district , Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian poet , translator and literary critic .

biography

Petrossanyak studied Russian and German philology at the National Vasyl Stefanyk University of the Subcarpathian Mountains in Ivano-Frankivsk .

Since 1991 she has been the author of texts for the Ivano-Frankivsk music formations “Stary Stanislaviv” and “Rara avis”. In 1996 her first collection of poems “Park am Hang” was published, which was followed by more. A poem from Park am Hang was awarded the Boo-Boo-Boo prize “For the best poem of the year”. Petrossanyak's poems have been translated into French, German, Polish, English, Russian, and Belarusian.

Petrosanyak ran a literary studio at the regional organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine . She translates primarily from the German language. The translated works include Péter Zilahy's The Last Window Giraffe , Alexander Granach's autobiographical novel Da geht ein Mensch (2012) and Soma Morgenstern's autobiography In Another Time. Youth in East Galicia . (2019), a series of stories by Hans Koch (2016).

In 2001 she defended her dissertation on "Poetics of Joseph Roth's Fiction". She was a scholarship holder of the Austrian government. In 2007 she won the Hubert Burda Prize for Eastern European Authors in Germany.

By 2016, she lived in Ivano-Frankivsk, then they moved to the Swiss Basel .

In 2019 she published the collection of short stories "Do not disturb me to save the world" (2019) and other short stories .
