The Hamburg Conservatory is the oldest music training facility in Northern Germany that still exists today. The carrier is friends and sponsors of the Hamburger Conservatory e. V.

history

The Hamburg Conservatory was founded in 1908 as Klaer's Conservatory for Music in Blankenese , then Prussia . Since 1977 it has been located in a building specially designed for the conservatory, right next to the S-Bahn station in the partly rural district of Hamburg-Sülldorf . It has a branch in St. Pauli and, since 2013, also in the former Flachsland Youth House in Barmbek-Süd .

Long before the Hamburg University of Music existed, the conservatory became popular, especially through some lecturers.

It is one of the largest private training institutes for music in the Federal Republic of Germany and unites under one roof an academy (music studies), a music school (amateur training) and a training and event center.

The Conservatory works closely with the following institutions: Hamburg University of Music, Hamburg State Music Academy, Hamburg State Music Council , Jugend musiziert and Hamburg State Youth Music School.
