Hamdan bin Raschid Al Maktum ( Arabic حمدان بن راشد آل مكتوم Hamdān bin Rāschid Āl Maktūm , DMG Ḥamdān b. Rāschid Āl Maktūm ; * December 25, 1945 ) is Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE .

He was born in Shindagha as the second eldest of four sons of Sheikh Raschid bin Said Al Maktum . His brothers are Sheikh Muhammad (ruler of the Emirate of Dubai and Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates) and Sheikh Ahmed bin Raschid Al Maktum . His eldest brother, Sheikh Maktum , Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE until his death, died on January 4, 2006.

Like his brother Sheikh Muhammad, he is a fan of equestrian sports and especially endurance riding .

Every year he donates an international prize, the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences , a prize for medical sciences.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum should not be confused with Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan from Abu Dhabi. He is 15 years younger and acquired the majority in Blohm and Voss in 2009 with his shipyard group Abu Dhabi MAR .
