Han Herred (also Hanherred ) was a Harde (Danish: herred) on the North Jutian island between Thy and Vendsyssel .

Originally the Harde belonged to Thy- Syssel and later came to Aalborghus Len . In 1662 there was a merger with the Harden in Vendsyssel to Åstrup Sejlstrup Børglum Amt . In 1793, Han Herred was finally split up. The western part became Harde Vester Han Herred in Thisted Amt , the eastern part became Øster Han Herred in Hjørring Amt . In the following years, the two halves of the old Han Herred were called Hanherrederne (German: Han-Harden).

With the Danish municipal reform on April 1, 1970 , these areas were added to the newly created Nordjyllands Amt . Since 2007 the entire area of the historic Han Herred has been part of the administrative region of Nordjylland . It roughly corresponds to the area of the Jammerbugt municipality .
