Handan Özgüven (born February 4, 1973 in Bensberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the state parliament of Hesse .

Life

After graduating from Paul-Klee-Gymnasium in Overath, Özgüven began studying law at the Philipps University of Marburg in 1992 , which she completed with the first state examination in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, Özgüven completed her legal clerkship at the Frankfurt a. M. and at the Marburg Regional Court , at the end of which the second state examination was successfully completed. Handan Özgüven has been working as a freelance lawyer in a law firm in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district since 2001 . She has been a specialist lawyer for family law since 2013.

politics

Özgüven, a member of the SPD since 2002 , was a board member of the Stadtallendorf local association from 2002 to 2012 . She has been a city councilor for the city of Stadtallendorf since 2006 and a member of the district council of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district since 2014. In December 2015, Özgüven moved up to the Hessian state parliament for Thomas Spies , where she was a member of the Legal Policy Committee, the Committee on Science and Art and the Petitions Committee. In the state elections in Hesse in 2018 , she missed the re-entry into parliament. Handan Özgüven is a member of the AWO , the VdK and the Marburger Tafel . In addition, she is a member of the Freundeskreis Hessisches Landestheater Marburg eV and the Bar Association.
