Marburg District Court
The Marburg Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of nine regional courts in Hesse . It is based in Marburg in central Hesse .

The district courts of Biedenkopf , Frankenberg (Eder) , Kirchhain , Marburg and Schwalmstadt belong to the judicial district . The higher regional court of Frankfurt am Main is superordinate to the Marburg Regional Court.

From 1879 the regional court was located in the former landgrave's office. His predecessors were the electoral high court for the province of Upper Hesse from 1821, the Marburg criminal court from 1851 to 1863, the newly constituted Marburg high court from 1864 to 1867 and the Prussian district court of Marburg from 1867 to 1879.
Since 1961, the district court has shared the building on Universitätsstrasse with the district court and the public prosecutor's office. The foundation stone for this was laid on May 9, 1958. A microfilming station has been located in a building on Schulstrasse since 1995 ; There, the files from ten ordinary courts and the Frankfurt Administrative Court are microfilmed.
