The Neustadt (Hessen) District Court (Neustadt Justice Office until 1867 ) was a court of ordinary jurisdiction with its seat in Neustadt (Hessen) until 1943 .

history

Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 Neustadt belonged to Kurhessen . The existing distribution of offices in Kurmainz was taken over, but the Neustadt (Hesse) office was no longer subordinate to the Amöneburg Upper Office, but to the nominal principality of Fritzlar . The Neustadt office took over the lower jurisdiction as was the administration.

The reorganization of the judiciary in the Kingdom of Westphalia led in 1807 to the separation of jurisdiction and administration. The canton of Neustadt was now responsible for administration, the Neustadt Peace Court for jurisdiction. The peace court was subordinate to the district court of Marburg , which was responsible for the district of Marburg .

With the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia in 1813, the separation of jurisdiction and administration was reversed and the Electorate of Hesse reintroduced the Neustadt office in 1814.

With an edict of June 29, 1821, administration and justice were separated in Kurhessen. Now judicial offices were responsible for the first instance jurisdiction, the administration was taken over by the districts . The Neustadt Justice Office was set up in Neustadt.

After the annexation of Kurhessen by Prussia, the Neustadt Justice Office became the Neustadt District Court on September 1, 1867.

The Neustadt District Court was closed on June 15, 1943. His district went up in the district of the Kirchhain district court .
