The District Court of Gladenbach was until 1968 a court of ordinary jurisdiction with its seat in Gladenbach in today's Marburg-Biedenkopf district in Central Hesse .

history

founding

After the lost war of 1866 , the Grand Duchy had to cede parts of the territory to Prussia with the peace treaty of September 3, 1866 . This also included the Hessian hinterland (the " Biedenkopf district ") with the district of the grand ducal district court of Gladenbach . The judicial district consisted of

Further development

Due to the Courts Constitution Act of 1877, with effect from October 1, 1879, the Gladenbach District Court moved to the district of the newly established Marburg Regional Court .

On October 27, 1880, the town of Bottenhorn was added.

With effect from October 1, 1902, jurisdiction for Hermannstein, Naunheim and Waldgirmes was transferred to the Wetzlar District Court , while Damshausen and Diedenshausen were transferred from the Biedenkopf District Court and Rodenhausen , Seelbach , Rollshausen and Lohra from the Fronhausen District Court to the Gladenbach District Court .

From October 1, 1944, the Gladenbach District Court belonged to the district of the Limburg Regional Court , which was reversed on January 1, 1949.

The End

On July 1, 1968, the Gladenbach District Court was dissolved. It now formed a branch of the Biedenkopf District Court. On November 1, 2003, this branch was also closed.

Courthouse

The seat of the court was initially the former grand ducal office (Marktstrasse 9), which had already been used by the Gladenbach Regional Court . The three-story half - timbered house was built in 1757 for the administration of the Blankenstein office. In 1854 the house was used by the administration of justice. It is a cultural monument due to the Hessian Monument Protection Act .

After the building no longer met the requirements, a new building was erected between 1906 and 1907 (Gießener Straße 27). This building is also a listed building today .
