The Marienberg District Court was a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Marienberg (Westerwald).

With Section 12 of the ordinance of February 22, 1867, the separation of administration and justice was ordered after Nassau was annexed by Prussia . This was not the case in the Duchy of Nassau . The offices were both administrative districts and courts of first instance. The Marienberg office existed in Marienberg . With ordinances of June 26, 1867 and August 21, 1867, the judicial function was transferred to the newly created district courts, including the Marienberg district court. The Marienberg District Court was initially subordinate to the Dillenburg District Court .

For the judicial district of the District Court Marienberg belonged the communities of the Office Marienberg except Bretthausen , Liebenscheid , Löhnfeld , Neukirch , stone , Weisenberg and Willingen the the district of the District Court Rennerod were assigned.

On October 1, 1879, the changes to the Courts Constitution Act came into force. The Marienberg district court remained, but the Limburg district court took the place of the disbanded Dillenburg district court .

In 1943 the Marienberg District Court was shut down and the Hachenburg District Court took over the work . It was reopened in 1945. Since Marienberg was now assigned to Rhineland-Palatinate and Limburg an der Lahn to Hesse , the Marienberg District Court was assigned to the judicial district of the Koblenz District Court .

As part of the regional reform, the Rennerod and Wallmerod district courts were dissolved on January 1, 1967 and the Westerburg district court was established for them. The Marienberg district court was added to the Hachenburg district court on the same date before this was also merged with Westerburg on April 1, 1973.
