The District Court of Sankt Goar is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is one of the 15 district courts in the district of the Koblenz Regional Court .

Jurisdiction and seat

The seat of the court is Sankt Goar , the judicial district comprises the city of Boppard and the municipalities of Emmelshausen , Loreley and Sankt Goar-Oberwesel .

It is the court of first instance in family , civil and criminal matters . It is also the enforcement court for all foreclosures where the debtor's domicile is in the judicial district.

In addition, the district court of Sankt Goar is the competent shipping court for the Rhine between the Nahe estuary and Oberkassel , for the Lahn and for the German sections of the Moselle and Saar . In his capacity as Rhine Court , it is directly the Rhine High Court Cologne Higher Regional Court of Cologne assumed.

The courthouse is located at Bismarckweg 3–4 in Sankt Goar. It is protected as a registered cultural monument within the meaning of the Monument Protection and Maintenance Act (DSchG) of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition, it has been part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002 .

The District Court of Koblenz is superordinate to the District Court of Sankt Goar. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court Koblenz .
