history
The first meeting of the handball committee took place on February 26th and 27th, 1939 between the Swiss Gymnastics Club (ETV) and the Swiss Football and Athletics Association (SAFV) in Bern . The treaty came into effect on March 11, 1939.
The Swiss Catholic Gymnastics and Sports Association (SKTV) and the Swiss Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association (SATUS) joined the committee on February 24, 1956 and October 1, 1961, respectively.
To take part in a Swiss handball competition you had to be a member of one of these associations.
After the contract for the HBA expired in 1974, the Swiss Handball Association was founded.
