Hanna Aroni (born September 10, 1933 in Asmara , Eritrea ; also: Hanna Ahroni , Chana Aharoni , Hebrew חנה אהרוני) is an Israeli singer .

Life

Your parents are from Yemen . In 1934 the family moved to Tel Aviv . Hanna Aroni was discovered by the composer Nahum Nardi at the age of 10 and made a career as a child star. She did her military service with a band in the animation team of the Golan Brigades; During this time her 4 octave voice was discovered. In the 1960s and 1970s she made an international career in North and South America as well as in Europe. Her repertoire, performed in ten languages, includes folk songs, ballads, hits and pop songs.

In the German-speaking countries she became known in 1972 for the German version of the song Eviva España by the Belgian authors Leo Caerts (music) and Leo Rozenstraten (text) published by Polydor . With this single she stayed in the charts for eleven weeks.

Hanna Aroni now lives with her family in New York City .
