Hanna Haikal

Hanna Haikal ( Johannes Haikal , born June 7, 1967 in Jouret Arsoun , Lebanon ) is a bishop of the Antiochian Orthodox Metropolis of Germany and Central Europe of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch .

Life

After attending elementary school and a secondary school, Hanna Haikal graduated from high school in Balamand monastery in 1986 . From 1989 to 1993 he studied Orthodox theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated with a diploma in Orthodox theology.

On 1 December 1995 was carried out by Georges Khodr his diaconate in Lebanon, followed by a doctorate followed from 1995 to 1999 at the University of Thessaloniki. Haikal wrote a dissertation on The Presence of Demons in Man's Life according to Saint John Chrysostom .

He was ordained a priest on November 1, 1997 in Lebanon . From 1999 he was then a priest and parish leader of the St. Georgios parish in Berlin . In 2011 he was ordained bishop , with the titular bishopric of Palmyra . Auxiliary Bishop Haikal, along with Metropolitan Isaak Barakat, is one of two bishops of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch in Germany. Its seat is in Berlin.
