Hanna Jenni is a Swiss Egyptologist .

Life

She studied Egyptology, Islamic Studies and Old Testament Studies in Basel and Paris . She worked at the Swiss Institute for Egyptian Building Research and Archeology in Cairo (1988–1991). She has lectured as a lecturer for Semitic languages ​​at the Theological Faculty of the University of Basel since 1994 . From 1994 to 1996 she worked on the Sources on the History of the Nabataeans project of the SNSF . She has been teaching Egyptology at the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Basel since 1996. She has been working on the MISR: Mission Siptah - Ramses X project at the University of Basel's Egyptological Department since 1998 . She has been teaching Egyptology at the University of Zurich since 2005. She has been working on the Sources for the History of the Phoenicians Project of the SNSF since 2006. After completing her habilitation in 2008, she became a private lecturer in Egyptology and Semitic Linguistics at the University of Basel and, in 2014, Titular Professor of Egyptology and Semitic Linguistics at the request of the Faculty of Philosophy and History and the Faculty of Theology at the University of Basel.
