Ursula Hackl

Ursula Hackl (born July 8, 1935 in Hanover ) is a German ancient historian .

She finished her studies in Munich in 1959 with a doctorate under Alexander Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg on the oligarchic movement in Athens. 1979 habilitation them at the University of Regensburg . In 1981, Jürgen von Ungern-Sternberg completed her habilitation at the University of Basel. Since then she has worked at this university, first as a private lecturer , from 1981 as an associate professor . In 2001 she retired.

Her work focuses on ancient constitutional history as well as the history of Hellenism and the late Middle East.
