Hanna Lam

Hanna Lam , also Johanna Raadgever (born February 1, 1928 in Utrecht , † January 2, 1988 in Bunnik ) was a Dutch poet and lyricist of numerous new sacred songs.

Act

Johanna Raadgever, better known as Hanna Lam, wrote her first hymns for her own children. Through her husband Anton Lam, she met the musician Wim ter Burg , who, like her husband, was a teacher at the academy for the training of primary school teachers.

Biblical songs should be created for children that a. refer to biblical texts and should also be understood playfully by the children.

Her song Abraham, Abraham, Leave Your Land, translated by Diethard Zils , was included in the main part of the Evangelical Hymn book (EG) from 1993 (EG No. 311) in the composition by Wim ter Burg. In the regional part of Rhineland, Westphalia, Lippe and Reformed Church as well as in the regional part of Austria, you can also find her song Let the children come to me, translated by Karl Ludwig Höpker .

With Wim ter Burg four song books were created under the title Alles wordt nieuw . Most of the texts were written by Hanna Lam. Your last booklet with nursery rhymes is titled Met other woorden .

Furthermore, Hanna Lam translated a children's Bible from German and gave lectures and seminars on the subject of Kind en godsdienst .

Hanna Lam was so committed that she studied pedagogy at an advanced age.

In the song book Eva's Lied , Hanna Lam shows her interest in women's issues in church and worship.
