Hanne Kloever

Hanne Klöver (* 1959 ) is a German journalist and book author . She works for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (for TV magazines like "Hallo Niedersachsen"; "Plattdüütsch!"; "Nordseereport"; "Nordtour") and for long formats like "Nordstory" and "Naturnah" as well as on radio for NDR 1 Niedersachsen and for NDR Info, including for the programs "Dit & Dat op Platt" and "Plattdüütsch an ´n Mondagavend"). She also makes contributions for Radio Bremen.

Career

Klöver studied German, English and Dutch at the Georg-August University in Göttingen ; This was followed by a traineeship at the Ostfriesen-Zeitung in Leer. Her radio work began in the early 1990s with feature contributions for Radio Bremen, for Deutschlandradio and for NDR. Her main topics include reports on the Low German language and literature, the cooking and eating culture of Northern Germany, the regional history of East Friesland and the Oldenburg region, as well as natural and environmental topics. She also deals with aspects of women's history. Hanne Klöver also writes for Ostfriesland Magazin.

Private engagement

Hanne Klöver is a founding member of the non-profit association "Rettet den Elisabethfehnkanal". The association has more than 600 members. Over 20 clubs are affiliated with it. At almost 15 kilometers, the longest continuously navigable Fehn Canal in Germany runs right on your doorstep. Her great-grandparents were among the first settlers on the canal. Grandfather was a peat skipper himself. The protest against the threatened deedication and thus the de facto closure of the canal was successful. The lock will be opened in 2020.

Hanne Klöver is committed to nature conservation. She is a trained beekeeper and fruit tree specialist.
