Hannes Hintermeier
Hannes Hintermeier (born July 5, 1961 in Altötting ) is a German journalist and literary critic . He is section head of the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ)
Career and life
Hintermeier grew up in Burghausen and attended the Kurfürst-Maximilian-Gymnasium there until 1980 . After high school and military service, he studied English and German at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In the meantime he was writing for the local newsroom in Dachau for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . In 1988 he began compact training at the German School of Journalism .
From 1990 to 1996 Hintermeier was literary editor at the evening newspaper and then moved to the culture section of the newspaper Die Woche . In 1998 he returned to the evening newspaper as head of the culture department. He has been working for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung since September 2001, initially as deputy head of the feature section and responsible for the “new non-fiction books”. Since October 2019, Hintermeier has been the responsible editor of the feature section together with Sandra Kegel .
Hintermeier is married and has two daughters. He lives near Frankfurt am Main and in Burghausen.
