Sandra Kegel

Sandra Kegel (born September 3, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German literary critic and journalist . She is the head of the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .

Life

After graduating from high school , Sandra Kegel first studied literature in Aix-en-Provence , later German , Romance studies, and theater , film and media studies in Vienna and Frankfurt am Main . She completed her studies in 1996 with a Magister .

After a time as a freelancer for radio and several newspapers , she sat in on the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and then worked for a while in the news department before becoming a permanent editor in the features section there in 1999 . From 2008 to 2019 she was responsible for the literature and literary life department. Since October 2019, Kegel and Hannes Hintermeier have been the responsible editor for the feature pages.

In addition to her journalistic work, she is on the juries of several literary prizes , such as the Leipzig Book Fair Prize , the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize and for three years (2015–2017) the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize . In addition, she belongs (as of 2019) to the permanent critics quartet of the ZDF literary program Buchzeit .
