The Hannigburg (also Hannigruine ) is a medieval castle ruin near Grodziszcze ( Lampersdorf ) in the powiat Ząbkowicki ( Frankenstein ) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

location

The ruin is located west of Grodziszcze and 3.5 kilometers south of Langenbielau on the summit of the 583 m high castle hill, the Predigtstuhl on the Hannig . This is on the road that connects Grodziszce with Nowa Ruda ( Neurode ), near the Przełęcz Woliborska pass ( Volpersdorfer Plänel ).

history

The Hannigburg was built in the middle of the 14th century by the dukes of Schweidnitz and Jauer . After the death of Duke Bolko II in 1368, the Duchy of Schweidnitz fell to Bohemia under inheritance law . As a result, the castle lost its military importance and was probably destroyed in the Hussite Wars .

The castle is namesake for the Vladiken family of the Hannigs .

Few remains of a round stone tower with a cistern at a depth of four meters and traces of a dry trench have been preserved. There are no references to other structures. The entire complex is now wooded. The ruin was a cultural monument until 1945.
