Hanno Girke

Hanno Girke (born January 2, 1972 in Konstanz ) is a German game inventor.

Life

While studying statistics at the University of Dortmund , he had been working as a freelancer at Wizards of the Coast since 1994 , where he was responsible for the translation of the trading card game Magic: The Gathering . After successfully completing his studies, he worked for Bankers Trust in Frankfurt , GfK / IRI in Nuremberg and for several years directly at Wizards of the Coast in Renton, Washington (USA), where, in addition to Magic: The Gathering, he also played the other trading card games of the Publisher.

After restructuring the translation department, he returned to Germany, where he worked as a freelancer on Magic cards again until 2012. From 2012 to 2018 he was in school service and taught in Vechta and Nordenham. Since 2018 he has been working as creative director and managing director for the game publisher Lookout GmbH.

Since 2004 he has also worked as a translator and co-editor of several Magic novels. Together with Uwe Rosenberg , he founded the small publisher Lookout Games in 2000 and together with him developed various extensions to the card game Bohnanza .

Hanno Girke is a grandson of Rudolf Schreiber . He is married and has two sons.
