Hanns-Georg Kilian

Hanns-Georg Kilian (born November 8, 1925 in Dessau , † December 26, 2017 in Ulm ) was a German physicist .

life and work

Kilian graduated from high school in 1949 after returning from Soviet captivity. He then studied physics in Aachen , where he received his doctorate in 1958. This was followed by the habilitation in Marburg with Friedrich Horst Müller . In 1969 he followed a call to Ulm University , where he headed the chair for experimental physics.

His scientific work includes contributions to polymer and colloid chemistry. Kilian was editor of the "Zeitschrift für Kolloid und Polymer Science" (today "Colloid & Polymer Science").
