Hanns Kleinertz

Hanns Kleinertz (born November 25, 1905 in Brühl (Rhineland) , † December 8, 1989 in Brühl (Rhineland)) was a German composer , conductor , conductor , music director and music teacher .

Hanns Kleinertz studied at the Cologne University of Music with Philipp Jarnach , Hermann Abendroth , August von Othegraven and Walter Braunfels . In 1938 he was appointed by Paul Hindemith as the director and reorganizer of Turkish folk music. Hanns Kleinertz also worked as a folk song researcher.

After the Second World War he was the founder of the Bonn Opera (at that time in the old town hall) and responsible for many opera productions with international musicians.

In 1954 the Brühl Palace Concerts were resumed by Hanns Kleinertz's Collegium Musicum Brühl.

Hanns Kleinertz composed orchestral works, chamber music, cantatas, solo songs, choirs and numerous folk song arrangements.
