Hanns Pfeifer (born September 4, 1902 in Mombach ; † 1989 ) was a German draftsman and lithographer.

Life

Pfeifer learned to be a chromo- lithographer (color pen) at the art, children's book and games publisher Josef Scholz in Mainz-Kastel . This was followed by studies at the "Grand Ducal Hessian Art School" at the wooden tower in Mainz until 1921 .

Numerous drawings of Mainz and the surrounding area originate from his pen, for example the "upper Hattenmühle" in the Gonsbach valley , today the Mainz Children's Neurological Center . In general, the old mills had done it to him. He worked in various techniques, chalk, pencil, pen and watercolor. He was a self-employed master lithographer and his customers came from all over the world. But he also designed commemorative publications, posters and coats of arms for the Mombach clubs. In his book “Mühlen in Mainz”, Adolf Wild has compiled nineteen illustrations by Hanns Pfeifer ( Mainzer Bibliotheksgesellschaft ).

Mombach motifs: "At the edge of the Great Sand ", "Alte Hofreite in Mombach"
