The Hanomag 6/32 PS Type 15 was founded in 1933 by the car manufacturer Hanomag first car - mid-range model brought to market. It was an intermediate type, of which 1,251 copies were built by 1934.
Technology and equipment versions
The vehicle had a 4-cylinder OHV in-line engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters, which developed 32 hp at 3,000 rpm and transmitted its power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. The car had a U-profile pressed steel frame with a cross beam and two rigid axles that were suspended from semi-elliptical leaf springs, and was available as a 2- or 4-door sedan (the latter without B-pillars) or as a 2- or 4-seater convertible .
In 1934 the car received a box-profile low frame, independent wheel suspension with transverse leaf springs at the front and a more modern all-steel body in "Jupiter form" from Ambi-Budd . He was 15 K Hanomag record type renamed. The 4-door sedan got B-pillars again; there was also a roadster (only 1934) and a Kübelwagen (from 1936).
From 1937 there was the record with perforated disc wheels, streamlined rear and slightly higher output (26 kW). The petrol-powered car was built in this form until 1938, with a total of 18,114 copies.
From 1936 the Hanomag Rekord Diesel Type D 19 A with a four-cylinder diesel engine (1,910 cm³ displacement, 26 kW output) and pre-chamber injection was produced. The car was presented at the Berlin Motor Show in February 1936, at the same time as the Mercedes-Benz 260 D. This made it one of the first series production cars with a diesel engine , but unlike the Mercedes-Benz, it was not immediately available. The diesel was available as a 2 or 4-door sedan and as a 2-seater convertible. Due to the high electrical energy requirements for the glow plug system , a switch was made to an on-board system voltage of 12 volts.
From 1939 the car was renamed Hanomag Diesel Type 19 K and was manufactured until 1940. A total of 1,074 copies were made.
World record
In 1939, the racing driver Karl Häberle set four world records with a racing car based on the record diesel with the 1.9-liter diesel engine, including that of the highest speed over 5 kilometers with a flying start.
