The standard gauge tank locomotives of the Hanomag type Ploxemam were two-axle industrial railway locomotives produced in large numbers by Hanomag . They were sold to large companies and occasionally to private railways. Some copies were used until the mid-1970s. One locomotive each has been kept running at the Franconian Switzerland Steam Railway and one in the Historic Locomotive Shed in Wittenberge .

history

The locomotives were primarily built for industrial railways and were manufactured between 1910 and 1928. The actual number of locomotives produced is not known. Hanomag's production list with the Bt wheel arrangement in standard gauge from 1910 to 1928 includes over 150 produced locomotives.

The task of the small machines was primarily to move the factory, as was the case with the Ilseder Hütte , where the two locomotives with the serial numbers 8114 and 8115 were used to transport pig iron.

A locomotive with the serial number 9855 was delivered to the Meppen-Haselünner Railway , and one locomotive was given to the Delmenhorst-Harpstedter Railway , where it was numbered 5 .

Preserved locomotives

Two locomotives with the serial numbers 9442 and 9444 were delivered to the Nuremberg gas works . The locomotives ran here until the mid-1970s. In 1975 one of them was bought by the Fränkische Schweiz steam railway , the other on permanent loan from the city of Nuremberg. They are named Nürnberg and Ebermannstadt . The Ebermannstadt is behind is secured, the Nürnberg is operative (2020).

The locomotive with the serial number 9445 was delivered to a sugar factory in Rethen and drove here until 1966, when it was decommissioned. In 1975 it was sold to a private individual. From the acquired HF Wiebe KG in Nienburg the locomotive. It was given the name Emma here and was rebuilt to be drivable by 2010. In 2018 it received another general inspection , during which the axle bearings were overhauled and the pipes in the boiler were replaced. Since then, the locomotive has been stored in the historic locomotive shed in Wittenberge .

construction

A simple box frame carries the two-axis engine with Heusinger control and curved loop as well as the cylinders, which are realized with flat slides . The frame is provided with conventional pulling and bumpers at the front and rear . The brake works as a handbrake from the front on both axles.

The simple steam boiler carries a steam and a sand dome, of which a sand pipe acts in front of the wheels from the inside on each engine side. It is also equipped with safety valves of the simplest form. The water supply is partly stored in the water tank integrated between the frame with a filler neck on the side or in the side box. The coal, which can be removed from the driver's cab, is stored in the box on the left. The locomotive is now illuminated electrically with a turbo generator .
