Hans Böckler Prize of the City of Cologne

The City of Cologne's Hans Böckler Prize has been awarded by the City of Cologne every two years since 2005.

In memory of the honorary citizen of the city of Cologne since 1951, Hans Böckler , the prize is awarded for special services to the improvement of working and living conditions, the creation of jobs and training positions, education and training, social cohesion and solidarity among people as well as participation and participation in the economy and society.

A board of trustees , consisting of the Lord Mayor of Cologne , the chairman of the Hans Böckler Foundation , the chairman of the German Trade Union Federation (Cologne region), a sponsor representative and parliamentary group members of the Cologne City Council in the Social Affairs and Seniors Committee, decide on the award of the award.

The Hans Böckler Prize of the City of Cologne was endowed with 20,000 euros in 2005 ; it has been awarded without endowment since 2007.
