Hans-Christian Kossak

Hans-Christian Kossak (* 1944 ) is a German psychologist , psychotherapist and non-fiction author . He contributed to the increased combination of hypnotherapeutic and behavioral therapy methods.

Live and act

Hans-Christian Kossak studied psychology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. Later he had teaching positions at the Ruhr University in Bochum and received his doctorate with a thesis on the combination of modern cognitive-behavioral therapy with modern hypnosis at the University of Bremen . He also completed training in behavioral therapy , conversation psychotherapy and hypnosis. Kossak received approvals as a psychological psychotherapist and as a child and adolescent psychotherapist .

From 1969 until his retirement in 2009, he was in charge of the Catholic counseling center for parenting and family issues in Bochum and the children's outpatient clinic he founded there. Kossak was and is active, among other things, as a psychotherapist, conversation therapist, hypnotherapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist and behavioral therapist as well as a trainer, in particular for the combination of behavioral therapy and hypnosis. He has been practicing hypnosis himself since the mid-1970s, especially in combination with cognitive-behavioral therapy, and is a lecturer at training institutes for psychotherapy .

Kossak is the author of a textbook on hypnosis and has also published numerous specialist and non-fiction books as well as specialist articles in specialist journals. He is an avowed comic book reader.
