Hans-Christoph Müller (born October 23, 1949 ) is a former German soccer player. He played for BSG Chemie Böhlen in the 1970s and 1980s in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Before his time in Böhlen , Hans-Christoph Müller was active in the company sports association (BSG) Chemie Leipzig . His first point games in the men's area of ​​the higher-class game operation he played in the 1970/71 season with the 2nd team of BSG Chemie in the second-class GDR league . He was used 26 times in the 30 point games played. Since the first team was relegated from the league at the end of the season, the second team had to go to the third-class district leaguecompete. Then Müller moved to the GDR league club Chemie Böhlen. There he was a regular player until the 1973/74 season and missed only four point games in the three seasons. After Müller had been used in five GDR league games at the beginning of the 1974/75 season, he was drafted into military service in the National People's Army in November 1974 . After his discharge from military service, he played again for BSG Chemie Böhlen from the 1976/77 season. This was again the league season winner this season and this time made it to the top division. Müller was involved with ten point game stakes and eight qualifying games. In his first league season he was regularly used as a defender until the sixth matchday, but injured himself on the sixth matchday, so he had to pause for four weeks. At the end of the season, he finally came to 17 league games. 1978/79 Müller, still playing in defense, was used in 19 league games. This time Böhlen failed to stay up and played in the GDR league again in 1979/80. There Müller could only complete ten encounters, but reached the promotion round again with the team, in which he played seven of the eight games and thus contributed to the immediate resurgence. In his second league season he was only able to play in the first three league games, after which he was only used at irregular intervals in six other league games. At the end of the 1980/81 season, BSG Chemie Böhlen rose again from the league.

Müller then left Böhlen and moved to the GDR league club Stahl NW Leipzig . There he was able to prevail as a regular player in 1980/81 with 21 appearances in the 22 GDR league games, but the steelworkers then relegated to the district league. After a year in the third division, they immediately rose again with the help of Müller, and then immediately relegated again. The 1983/84 season, in which Müller again played 19 GDR league games, was his last season in nationwide game operations. After 13 seasons, he was able to refer to 45 league games in which he remained as a defensive player without scoring. In the GDR league he made 151 appearances, in which he scored two goals in 1971/72 and one goal in 1983/84. He also played in 23 promotion games to the league.
