Hans-Dieter Mirnegg (born May 24, 1954 in Klagenfurt ) is a former Austrian national soccer player who was mainly used in defense.

Career

Mirnegg began his Bundesliga career in the 1972/73 season with Austria Klagenfurt . After three seasons with the Carinthians, he moved to SK VOEST Linz in 1975 , where he completed over 100 Bundesliga appearances in four years. In 1979 he moved to Germany to MSV Duisburg . During his time in Germany, he played 48 games in the German Bundesliga and also scored one goal. After two years in the Ruhr area , Mirnegg played a year in Italy with Como Calcio . In 1982 Dieter Mirnegg returned to Austria and in the following years he played at FC Union Wels , the Vienna Sports Club , SK Vorwärts Steyr and again at SK VOEST Linz.

He played a total of 244 Bundesliga games in Austria and scored 12 goals.

Hans-Dieter Mirnegg also played for the Austrian national soccer team . He made his debut on January 30, 1979 when his team won 1-0 in a friendly international match at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv- Jaffa, Israel. Up to and including November 11, 1981 - the 0-0 World Cup qualifier at the Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia - there were 14 more appearances in the red and white national dress.

From 1983 to 2015 Mirnegg ran a boutique for Italian men's fashion on the Linz promenade.
