Hans-Dieter Paulo (born November 29, 1956 in Spremberg ) is a former German soccer player in the storm . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Paulo played in his youth from 1963 to 1971 for his hometown club BSG Turbine Spremberg and then in the youth departments of the BSG activist Black Pump , with which he stayed until 1978. He then went to ASG Vorwärts Kamenz as part of his military service , before returning to BSG activist Schwarze Pump for one season in 1980. In 1981 Paulo was signed by the upper division club BSG Energie Cottbus. He made his debut on August 22, 1981, when he was in the starting line-up on matchday 1 in the 5-0 defeat against Rot-Weiß Erfurt . His first goal was on October 24, 1981 (8th matchday) against BFC Dynamo . In his first season in 1981/82 Paulo only missed one league game and scored five goals in the 25 games played. At the same time he got three hits in four games in the FDGB Cup 1981/82 . After relegation to the second-rate GDR league, he was used 22 times, but could only score two goals. In 1983/84 Paulo was again significantly more successful with twelve goals in 19 games. He continued this trend in 1984/85 with 33 games and nine goals and 1985/86 with ten goals in 29 games. After promotion in 1986, Paulo only made eleven appearances during the season , in which he scored two goals. In 1987 he returned for two seasons to the BSG activist Black Pump. However, he was only used sporadically and completed only eight games (two goals) in the GDR league in the two years. In 1989 he moved to his youth club BSG Turbine Spremberg, which was renamed SC Spremberg 1896 in 1990 . Paulo stayed there until 1996 and then became head coach for one season. He then worked as a player-coach at SC Spremberg in 1896 until he ended his career in 2000.
