Hans-Dieter Schnell

Hans-Dieter Schnell (born February 27, 1939 in Frankfurt am Main ; † November 13, 2016 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1959, Schnell completed an apprenticeship in banking from 1960 to 1962 and worked as a banker (stock exchange trader) until December 31, 1962, before taking on a job in his parents' wholesaler from 1963 to 1978. From 1978 to 2004 he worked as an employee in the insurance field service.

politics

From 1970 Hans-Dieter Schnell was a member of the CDU, where it was chairman for many years and since 2003 honorary chairman of the CDU Frankfurt-Westend.

In 1989 he became district head, in 1998 CDU parliamentary group chairman in district 2 and spokesman for the district head.

From July 14, 2006 to April 5, 2008, he was the successor to Boris Rhein in the Hessian state parliament (constituency: 36 - Frankfurt am Main III) and there a member of the petitions committee, legal committee, subcommittee of the penal system and the hardship committee at the Hessian Minister of the Interior and for sports.

He died on November 13, 2016 in his hometown of Frankfurt am Main.
