Hans-Eckart Joachim

Hans-Eckart Joachim (born September 25, 1937 in Frankenstein / Silesia) is a German prehistoric historian .

Life

After graduating from high school, Joachim Ur- u. Early history, medieval history and ethnology at the universities of Bonn , Vienna and most recently in Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1966 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the Hunsrück-Eifel culture on the Middle Rhine .

In 1969 Joachim got a job at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn and in 1988 became head of the "Prehistory Department". He retired at the end of 2002. In the 1980/81 winter semester, Joachim was entrusted with a teaching position at the Institute for Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Bonn, where he was appointed honorary professor in 1994 .

Joachim is the author of numerous writings, especially on the Iron Age settlement of the Rhineland .
