Hans-Günther Tuszynski (born February 13, 1936 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper. For progress Weissenfels he played from 1957 to 1960 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Until 1954, Hans-Günther Tuszynski played in the junior division of the company sports club (BSG) Turbine Weimar . In the spring of 1954, a football section was founded at the sports club of the Sport University Leipzig (DHfK) , which was to train talented players in two teams to become top footballers. 18-year-old goalkeeper Tuszynski was among the selected players. The DHfK football project lasted only six months, then both teams that had been integrated into the second-rate GDR league without any athletic qualifications were dissolved. The players were distributed to other teams. Tuszynski, who had never been used in SC DHfK point games, was sent back to Weimar. There he was goalkeeper of the BSG locomotive (successor to the BSG turbine) from January 1955, but was not used in the GDR league team there either. From the summer of 1955, the BSG locomotive had to play in the third-class 2nd GDR league .

For the 1957 season (calendar year season) Tuszynski moved to the upper division SC progress Weissenfels, where a new second goalkeeper was needed behind Herbert Jacob. In his first league season Tuszynski represented Jacob in nine of 26 point games. In 1958 and 1959 Tuszynski was the goalkeeper of the Weißenfelser with 23 and 22 top division points, respectively. On the 12th day of the 1960 season Tuszynski injured so badly that he was out for a long time and was only used on the 20th day for one half. At the end of the season progress Weissenfels rose from the league. For Tuszynski there was a balance of 64 league appearances.

In the season 1961/62 (return to the summer-spring season) Tuszynski was intended as a second goalkeeper in the league team of Motor Zwickau, but was only used in the reserve team. In the summer of 1962 he returned to Weimar, where his former BSG now played as Motor Weimar in the GDR league. There he played 88 of 146 league games by 1967, but was only the goalkeeper in the seasons 1963/64 and 1965/66. In 1968 Weimar was relegated to the district league, but Tuszynski stayed with BSG Motor until 1975. In 1971/72 the Weimar team was again represented in the GDR league, but Tuszynski no longer played in the first team.
