Hans-Henning Matthiaß

Hans-Henning Matthiaß (born May 4, 1925 in Kiel , † October 29, 2007 in Münster ) was a German orthopedist and university professor.

Life

Matthiaß received his Matura in Vienna in 1942 . From the winter semester 1942/43 he studied preclinical at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . After completing the Physikum , he moved to the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . There he passed the state examination in December 1948. In November 1949 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. At first he worked as an assistant in the city ​​hospital in Kiel . In 1950 he moved to the orthopedic department of the Surgical University Clinic in Kiel under Robert Wanke . In July 1954 he became a medical specialist. In 1961 he completed his habilitation at the Westphalian Wilhelms University for orthopedics . In the winter semester of 1966/67 he was commissioned to represent the chair for orthopedics. Scientific councilor and associate professor since May 1967 , he was appointed full professor and director of the Orthopedic University Clinic and Polyclinic in December 1968 . In 1972/73 he was dean of what was then Department 6 - Clinical Medicine. He retired on January 31, 1991 .
