Hans-Jürgen Ambrosius

Hans-Jürgen Ambrosius (born January 17, 1940 in the Stendal district ; † March 29, 2011 ) was a German trade union official .

After training as a locksmith in the Burbach repair shop of the Deutsche Bundesbahn , he worked there as a foreman until he retired.

He joined the Christian Union of German Railway Workers (CGDE) on March 1, 1973 . For many years he was a member of the staff council of AW Saarbrücken-Burbach. As a representative of the CGDE, he was a member of the representative assembly of the Deutsche Bundesbahn's railway company health insurance fund. As deputy managing director, he was represented in the collective bargaining community for railway workers (CGDE, GDL, GDBA).

After he was initially appointed to the board of the Saarland district association of the CGDE, the members elected him on May 29, 1998 as district chairman. Since 1986, Hans-Jürgen Ambrosius was a member of the federal executive committee of the CGDE; In 2003 he was elected deputy federal chairman of the CGDE and managing director of the federal office of the CGDE in Saarbrücken . On February 23, 2011, Hans-Jürgen Ambrosius was unanimously elected as the new federal chairman of the CGDE at the federal trade union conference.

He was awarded the highest award of the CGDE, the Gold Medal of Honor with Certificate.

Jürgen Ambrosius was married; his wife died in 2010. He has a daughter and a son.
